Practice runs behind the defensive line — diagonal runs, checking to feet, and spinning off the shoulder of the last defender. Focus on timing your run with the passer.

First Touch Under Pressure

A server plays firm passes to you while a defender applies passive pressure from behind. Control the ball with your first touch and turn to shoot within 2 seconds.

Training Tips for Striker / Forwards

Positioning

Always be aware of the offside line. Make diagonal runs to stay onside while creating space.

Composure

When through on goal, stay calm. Pick your spot and place the ball rather than blasting it.

Hold-Up Play

Use your body to shield the ball from defenders. Bring teammates into play with layoffs.
